Seller’s Policies 

We at Socktail give Customer Satisfaction the highest priority, and expect our sellers to support us in delighting our users and buyers of the sellers. Whilst selling on Socktail, sellers are expected to deliver prompt and efficient service to ensure the customer’s experience on is a delightful one. Here are the expectations from our sellers:


Seller Registration

A User who wishes to sell items on the Website shall register by providing the requisite information/ data on SIGN UP page including details of the seller’s Valid Bank Account.


Product Listing

Seller can upload listing for items that they wish to sell using any of the three options provided on website viz. using Bookmarklet, from their website or image upload from computer. There is NO listing fees charged currently on and also there is NO limit on number of listings.


Invoicing & Commission

We provide Seller's a paltfrom to connect with buyers and sell their products. We help Buyers and Sellers connect and we are charging commission for services associated with it. Invoicing to customer for all items sold via Socktail is Seller's responsibility including any taxation related to sale of products like VAT, CST, and Octroi etc. The commission is calculated on the sale price of the product of the Seller.



We can provide service of Shipping of products to customer. Seller's availing our shipping services have to ready purchased item with proper packaging within the stipulated time period declared by seller for that particular product/item which will be picked up by our designated courier for delivery to customer. Invoice in standard format provided by us to be affixed with item by Seller. Any failure to adhere to these shipment timelines will be considered non-performance, and consistent non-performance may lead to temporary or permanent suspension of selling privileges. Further, Socktail shall still be entitled to the commission / services fee in accordance with the terms under “Invoicing & Commission” as stated above. Seller will be required to pay shipping charges in addition to commission.  


Item Quality

  • In addition to the covenants and warranties provided by the sellers in the E-Commerce Services Agreement, sellers should ensure that the items sold to customers are of high quality and in good working condition.
  • Buyers occasionally provide feedback to our Customer Support Team on the quality of the items received by them. These result in refunds being processed and the same are recorded on the seller performance dashboard.
  • Any order cancellation due to item not matching specifications / poor quality / non-functioning or refunds resulting out of customer complaints will be adjusted against subsequent seller remittances or independently claimed from the seller. Any order subsequently leading to a refund shall still entitle Socktail to earn its commission / service fee from the seller in accordance with the terms under “Invoicing & Commission” as stated above.
  • Continued complaints with regards to the same item/type of item may result in discontinuation of the listing of that particular item/type of item on the website and action on the seller account.
  • Order cancellations are recorded in the seller’s account and a high cancellation rate may result in disciplinary actions on the seller’s listings or account including cancellation of the account.

Seller Remittance

  • Seller understands that the payment for the Sales done will be remitted within 7 days after delivery of the item
  • The remittances will be processed once a week, i.e. on every Monday. On account of it being a Bank Holiday or any public holiday observed by Socktail on a Monday, the remittance will be processed on the next working day.
  • Off set: The remittance will be processed after applying / off setting all adjustments due on the Seller’s account.

Know Your Customer (KYC) Mandate

On reaching a lifetime business of Rs.25000 (sale value) or tenure of 3 months on Socktail (whichever is earlier), the sellers will need to complete the KYC procedure. The KYC process is a verification of Identity and the Bank account provided to Socktail for receiving remittances. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in the subsequent remittances being put on hold until the required documents are submitted and validated.

Proof of Identity (any one of below)

  • Passport
  • PAN Card
  • Voter’s Identity Card
  • Driver’s License
  • Aadhaar Card

Proof of Address (any one of below)

  • Passport
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Voter identity card
  • Drivers license
  • BSNL/MTNL bill
  • Bank account / Credit Card statement
  • Electricity bill
  • Ration card

The documents submitted should validate the details provided on your Socktail Seller Dashboard.

Customer Return and Refunds

  • All items that are not delivered successfully will be accepted back by the Seller, and the amount paid to the Seller (if any) for the same will be adjusted from his/her subsequent remittance.
  • Order for items if cancelled before it is shipped out, will be returned back to the Seller, and the amount (if any) paid out for the same will be adjusted from the subsequent remittance.
  • Socktail reserves all the rights to refund buyers their order amount due to Item Quality Issues, dead on arrival items, Non-Delivery of Items or Incomplete/Incorrect Items being received by buyers. These refunds will be adjusted against subsequent seller remittances or independently claimed from the seller. In this case seller can pursue a claim of return from the buyer, Socktail does not guarantee the return of the items and Socktail disclaims all responsibilities and liabilities for any non-return of the items by the buyer.
